Flowering Tree of Queens Blvd

Thursday, April 17th, 2008 | Photography, Positivity, Seasonal | 2 Comments

Flowers on Queens BlvdHere is a photo I took with my Blackberry of a tree that was in full bloom as I walked home from the Forest Hills JetBlue office.

Even though they are pretty, I know behind all those colorful petals and blooms, they are the cause of my sickness. *shakes fists* damn them.

Tomorrow Vanessa will have to walk me to work so I can show her this flowering tree. The one right next to it is much prettier. However, it was not wanting to be photogenic. But trust me, it was cooler. ;)

Yesterday, Justin and I had pizza at Nick’s in Forest Hills with Katie and a some people from JetBlue (Umang, Jim, Albert and Bryan). Justin and Katie bought a lot… I mean a LOT of discount chocolate Easter bunnies and we devoured some seriously not-good-for-you but oh-so-good food. ;) Thanks for the invite, Miss Katie!

I’ve added a few other photos to my Flickr. Still a lot more that need to be added.

Acquainted with the Night

Friday, December 21st, 2007 | Uncategorized | No Comments

This is a Robert Frost poem.. I thought I’d post it and see if anyone had any of their own opinions or would like to attempt to analyze it. I love the feeling of loneliness, apathy and sadness it evoked in me upon reading it this morning… certain areas of the poem being particularly poignant. I thought I’d paste it and see if anyone had any thoughts.

I have been one acquainted with the night.
I have walked out in rain - and back in rain.
I have outwalked the furthest city light.

I have looked down the saddest city lane.
I have passed by the watchman on his beat
And dropped my eyes, unwilling to explain.

I have stood still and stopped the sound of feet
When far away an interrupted cry
Came over houses from another street,

But not to call me back or say good-bye;
And further still at an unearthly height,
One luminary clock against the sky

Proclaimed the time was neither wrong nor right.
I have been one acquainted with the night.

Other news (and life is strange but that is a longer and more involved story): Justin won standby tickets on Qantas from his Corp Comm team Christmas Party, so it looks like we will be visiting Australia and New Zealand sometime next year (I am particularly interested in the latter).

Maybe it’s part of my Nomadic Tendencies

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007 | Uncategorized | 3 Comments

But another year, another job. At least that is what it seems like. Am I unstable, or is it the world? Maybe it’s a little this, a little that. At any rate, I feel I have found a position where I will be challenged and can stay for a while.

I thought that about JetBlue at first too, but you know, you never really know.

The position is Marketing Manager for an Adventure Travel company. It doesn’t get much more perfect than that. I’ll post more details soon. :D
